netsh Winsock reset

Method 3: clear network cache

In this method, you have to execute ipconfig command into the command prompt. This command allows you to know the current configuration of the installed IP stack on a networked computer.

By using this, we can reset the content of the DNS client resolver cache. Follow these steps for this method:

1. In the search box type command prompt, then right-click on the result.

2. Then choose Run as administrator.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

4. Then press enters to execute this command.

5. Once the command is executed, then restart your computer.

Method 4: Configure TCP/IP settings manually to fix Ethernet Doesn’t have a Valid IP Configuration

If the above methods do not help, then try to configure TCP/IP settings manually. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing windows key and R, or you can click on the start button and choose run from there.

2. In the run dialog box type ncpa.cpl command and press enter, the network connection window will start.

4. Navigate to ethernet connection right-click on it and select properties.

5. Then search for internet protocol version 4 and then click on properties.

6. If you are getting the error notification to try and switch to obtain an IP address automatically and obtain the DNS server address automatically. Then click on, ok.

7. If these options were set by default and you have not performed any configurations, you can try to enter the static IP address details, such as IP address, subnet mask.

8. Click on ok and restart your computer.

Method 5: reinstall or update the network adapter

What does a device driver do? It is a software that informs the operating system and other software how to interact with hardware. It helps in smooth communication between hardware and software.  If none of the above methods helps, then you can try by reinstalling the network adapter. Follow the following steps:

1. Go to start button click on device manager, or you can type device manager in the search box.

3. Expand it, right-click in the networking device then click on uninstall from the drop-down menu.

4. If you are asked for confirmation for uninstalling, click on ok and mark the uninstall the driver software for this device.

5. Now you simply have to restart your computer. 

6. If the window does not install the missing driver, then select scan for hardware changes.

7. It will detect the missing files and install them.

Method 6: Disable your antivirus

If none of the above methods helped, then, at last, you could disable your antivirus. Some have said that by uninstalling the antivirus, they could easily get rid of the error.
